Technology Enabled Girl Ambassadors (TEGA)
Rocky Mountain Cradle to Career Partnership (RMC2C) utilizes a peer to peer interview methodology called Technology Enabled Girl Ambassadors (TEGA) to garner authentic voice and perspective from key stakeholders, including youth, parent, and community leaders to support the work of our Collaborative Action Networks (CANs) throughout the Continuous Improvement Process.
Information we gather through TEGA interviews informs the work the RMC2C Partnership is doing across all levels, from helping us understand what it is like to be a young person in Adams and Broomfield Counties, to illuminating the perspective and input from those who are so often marginalized.
In the winter of 2019, TEGA will be launching its first study in Broomfield County, aimed towards moving the needle in one of our key cradle to career outcomes: youth employment.
TEGA was developed by our international partner, Girl Effect, to help inform the work of the RMC2C Partnership with authentic voice and perspective, ensuring that those who our Partnership serves, are at the heart of what we do.
TEGA stands for Technology Enabled Girl Ambassadors. TEGAs are young women ages 18-24 who are credentialed as digital interviewers through the Market Research Society and trained to conduct research via a mobile application. Girl Effect (an international non-profit) designed the app so girls can collect real-time data about their communities in the form of audio, videos and photos, as well as traditional survey data.
Over 200 TEGAs are currently collecting qualitative data in Nigeria, Malawi, Rwanda, India, Tanzania, Bangladesh, and the United States on subjects including education, health, safety and economic empowerment. In 2018, RMC2C launched a TEGA network in Adams County through a partnership with our national affiliate, StriveTogether, and Girl Effect. This network focuses on conducting interviews to inform Partners working to improve Cradle to Career Outcomes for all young people in Adams and Broomfield Counties.
