COVID Main Who’s Involved The Work FAQ Resources

The Adams County Food Security and Basic Essentials Response and Recovery Team is working to meet the needs of residents with food essentials and basic needs during the COVID-19 crisis, including policy, resource and system shifts that may be needed and to provide an avenue for clear, concise information and aid in real-time.

Thank you to our Champion

COVID-19 has provided a critical opportunity for our community to come together to understand and meet the emerging needs of our residents. In two critical areas, Commissioner Tedesco has championed the efforts with numerous community partners in support of access to food and healthcare for our most vulnerable populations.  With both efforts, Commissioner Tedesco provided the needed leadership to outreach to trusted partners, advocate for policy changes and support the allocation of resources to that end. For example, the Uninsured and Health Care Access Response and Recovery Team recognized the need to extend Colorado Connect for an additional month resulting in over 1000 Adams County residents having access to health insurance, and secured resources for free mobile COVID testing for residents who do not have access to testing.  Also, the Food Security and Basic Essentials team was able to allocate funding to partners providing food security in our highest need populations – children and their families. Thank you, Commissioner Tedesco for your leadership!
